Macada is crafted from a selection of grapes harvested from the poorest soils, rich in “macada.” It’s made using grapes from vines with low yields, and the grape varieties used can change depending on the year. Each bunch is handpicked with care. The wine is then aged for 12 months in new French oak barrels.

Wine Description

Buxtet’s Macada wine comes from the tough soils of Majorca. It’s made with carefully picked grapes from places where not much grows, giving it a unique taste. The wine is made from different types of grapes each year, depending on which ones did best. Every grape is picked by hand to make sure only the best ones are used. Then, the wine is aged for 12 months in new oak barrels from France, which adds to its flavor. Buxtet Winery is known for making wine that really shows what Majorca is all about. Macada is a great example of their work, offering a straightforward and enjoyable taste of the winery’s dedication to quality.

Storage and Serving Tips

Store red wine in a cool, dark place.
Serve slightly below room temperature.
Consider decanting younger wines.
Use large-bowled glasses for proper aeration.
Pour one-third full to allow swirling.
Swirl gently to release aromas before sipping.

About the Maker

Butxet Winery is a family-owned business situated between Muro and Can Picafort, close to the S’Albufera nature reserve. Their wines are distinctive because there are not many vineyards in the area. They specialize in producing red wines using Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah grapes. The winery’s location, only 500 meters from S’Albufera and near sea level, results in wines that are smooth and easy to enjoy.
